My Experience with Paleo

A Quick Paleo Story:

My sister ‘went Paleo’ in 2010, and she hooked me on the diet immediately.  I had more energy, strength, and stamina— due to eating higher-quality foods, increased calories from protein and fat, and fewer cheap carbs.  Then our dad went Paleo and lost 15 pounds in 1 month, and 40 pounds in 4 months.  Our uncle joined in and dropped 30 pounds in 3 months.  Our great-uncle lost 60 pounds on ‘mostly Paleo and walking’, and now looks like a youthful man at age 82.  Our grandma lost 30 pounds.  Our mom lost 10 pounds of fat and looks 10 years younger, and her skin glows.


So, What is Paleo?

The Paleo diet mimics the simple cooking, farming and foraging diets of our human ancestors.  The diet encourages more protein and fats than traditional diets, and limits carbohydrates.  There are many different ways that one can ‘eat Paleo’, but there are two absolutes:  No processed sugar, and no wheat (gluten).

If you need to lose weight and improve your body’s health, there is significant evidence that a Paleo-style diet, along with daily exercise, is one of the most effective and healthy ways to do so.

  • Gout
